Vox Pathfinder Bass 10

This new Vox Pathfinder 10 bass combo amp is for closet Beatlemaniacs. It's the classic Vox style -- black Tolex with diamond grillecloth. 10 watts RMS, two 5' Bulldog speakers. Weighs less than 3 pounds. Headphone jack; Drive, Volume, Bass, Treble controls and Bright switch. I've been playing bass for 45 years.

I was lucky enough to know a music dealer who picked one up at NAMM 2010. Paid just $85. MSRP is $150. They are in limited supply right now.

Well -- it's cute! Weighs less than 3 pounds. It's good for at-home practice and actually sounds pretty good for such a tiny package. The drive control adds some smooth distortion.

An Aux input to allow a CD player to be connected for practice would have been nice -- it's pretty much a standard feature on small amps these days.

Well made, seems solid.

This new Vox Pathfinder 10 bass combo amp is perfect for closet Beatlemaniacs. It has the classic Vox look with diamond grillecloth, and it should set you back only about $100. Not powerful enough for use with a band, it could be used in the studio using the headphone/line out jack. Lack of a CD/MP3-player input for practice is a downside.
